Χρήστος Λάππας 25,081 Report post #1 Posted July 27, 2016 July 26, 2016 / By Sean Higgins - Associate Editor Svindal announces plan for a comeback Norwegian superstar Aksel Lund Svindal has announced via social media that he anticipates returning to snow sometime this September after a successful six months of rehab following his spectacular season-ending crash in last season’s Hahnenkamm downhill. Svindal, who suffered an ACL tear in his right knee in the crash, was nothing short of dominant in the speed disciplines up until that point in the season. He still managed to come in second in the downhill standings and third in the super-G standings despite essentially missing the second half of the season. “It’s been six months of good rehab, and it looks like I can ski again this September,” he wrote on Facebook and Instagram alongside a photo from the race that took him out for the season. The Norwegian men plan on heading to South America this September for training camps. According to Svindal, if all goes well, he fully anticipates being in the starting gate for the season opening speed races in Lake Louise in late November. No doubt Svindal has his sights on the World Championships in St. Moritz next February, where he will aim to add to the five titles he already has at the venue where he made his World Championship debut back in 2003.
