Επίσης, τις προηγούμενες μέρες παίχτηκε το επεισόδιο Running Wild που γύρισε με τον Edward Michael "Bear" Grylls νομίζω στη Κορσική.

Μιλάει για τους τραυματισμούς, τον Tiger και τρώει αχινούς (ή κάτι παραπλήσιο τελοσπάντων)....

 

Μεταξύ άλλων είπε για τον Tiger (όλη η "ουσία" στα bold): “I loved him so much and I still do, and it just didn’t work, you know.” She explained the troubles of two famous athletes dating. “It was too much with his competition schedule and mine and, you know, he has two kids.” She added about the breakup, “We’re still on good terms and we’re friends, but it was really hard.”

When Grylls asked if she was currently dating anyone, she replied, “No. I’m not. I’m single and it’s nice to put the priority back on myself and just do what I need to do.”

Μέσα σε λίγες μέρες, νέο ποστ της Lindsey στο Instagram που ανάβει τα αίματα:

 

Ωστόσο δεν λείπουν και οι επικριτές αυτής της τακτικής προώθησης του εαυτού τους που ακολουθούν πολλές αθλήτριες παγκοσμίως:

Πράγματι, αν παρατηρήσει κανείς, οι επιτυχίες της στο σκι έχουν μια αντιστρόφως ανάλογη πορεία με την έκθεση ακάλυπτων σημείων του σώματός της τώρα τελευταία.

 

Αν θυμάμαι καλά η αρχή έγινε με μια φωτογράφιση to 2010 στο Sports Illustrated, ακολούθησε κάποια στιγμή ένα βίντεο-μίμηση της Sharon Stone από την εμφάνισή της στο Basic Instict και τελευταία πάλι στο Sports Illustrated του 2016 με το body paint ολόσωμο μαγιό.

 

Είναι προφανές το πόσο προμοτάρει τον εαυτό της πέρα από την αθλητική της υπόσταση και μάλλον παραδίδει μαθήματα και σ' αυτόν τον τομέα.

 

Μόνο τυχαία δεν έχει βέβαια τοποθετηθεί το μπουκάλι της Red Bull κάω δεξιά...

 

Προφανώς παίζουν ρόλο τα συμβόλαιά της με μεγάλες εταιρείες (Red Bull, Under Armour κ.α.), όμως είναι "κάπως" να αρχίζουμε να τη σχολιάζουμε για τα "γυναικεία της προσόντα" ενώ μέχρι τώρα αναφερόμασταν κυρίως στην αθλητική της παρουσία...

ποσα χρονια ακομα θα ειναι στο αγωνιστικο σκι? 2? 3? 5? μετα?

 

αρχίζει σιγα σιγα το marketing...μαζεύει και κάποια λεφτά απο σπονσορες

δεν το έχω απίθανο όταν αποσυρθεί απο αθλήτρια να φτιάξει μια κολεξιον με δικά της ρούχα για σκι. ή ποιος ξέρει...κάποιο μοντέλο σκι...όπως ο jeremy jones..

και στην γερμανια ο neureuther κάνει πανω κατο το ιδιο..διαφημισεις, εμφανισεις κλπ κλπ. Οποιο περιοδικο για σκι κ αν ανοιξεις τσουπ τον βλεπεις μεσα. Συνεντευξη, διαφημιση κλπ

My dad was a ski racer growing up. He may or may not have bribed me with hot chocolate and sprinkled donuts — but whatever he did, it worked. I started racing when I was seven, and I knew I wanted to be a ski racer when I was nine.

 

When I first started racing, I wasn’t good. I was really slow, and my coach actually made fun of me and called me a turtle. But then once I figured out that I didn’t like losing, I had a lot of fun with it and I started to be successful.

 

In a lot of sports, the variables are kind of out of your control. With skiing, you have control over the speed that you go. No one is telling me to go slower. I can put my foot on the gas the whole way down if I want to. That’s the feeling that I love most about skiing — the freedom to push yourself to the max.

 

At the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, I felt like I had finally figured out how to ski my best on the biggest stage in the world. But then missing the 2014 Olympics was really hard. That should have been the peak of my career. I had fought so hard in 2013 to come back from a broken leg and torn ACL and MCL — and then to re-injure myself only a few months before the Olympics was devastating.

 

And that point, it was like, What am I doing? Am I going to just keep picking myself back up and then falling? But I had a really good support system around me that kept reminding me why I do it — I love ski racing. At the end of the day, ski racing is a crazy sport. We’re all going to crash at some point.

 

No matter what obstacle or setback you face, if you continue to work hard and don’t give up, you can overcome anything. My mom had a stroke when she gave birth to me. I feel like all of my injuries are nothing compared to what she’s had to go through. It could be a lot worse, and my mother never complains. So, I just shut my mouth and I keep working.

GREATEST FEMALE RACER OF ALL TIME ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT

The most successful female ski racer of all time, American Lindsey Vonn, has said that she will retire at the end of the up-coming 2018-19 ski season.

 

The 33 year-old was not making a public announcement of her retirement as such but speaking apparently ‘in passing’ at a meeting for small businesses.

 

 

Vonn, now 33, has won 82 World Cup races, the most of any woman, and only four less than the all time record of 86 held by Swedish great Ingemar Stenmark. Earlier in the year Vonn had said she would not retire until she’d broken Stenmark’s long-standing record.

 

“If I could break the record that would be amazing, if I can’t it has been a great ride and I am still the most successful female and I still think that’s something to be really proud of. So we’ll just see what happens this year,” she said.

Among her many achievements, Lindsey Vonn caused upset at the International Ski Federation when she asked to be allowed to compete against men. The issue is still being debated several years after it was first raised
