Shane McConkey died this week six years ago in a failed ski BASE jump attempt in Italy. His lost was felt as hard as any other we've suffered in the ski world, as Shane not only led the way in so many critical areas of skiing–powder ski design (rocker, reverse sidecut, waterskis) ski technique (The McConkey Turn), big mountain skiing–but made sure not a single one of us took this shit too seriously.

Saucerboy was his alternate personality: a whiskey-swilling, snowlerblading, saucer-riding, Moonwalking radical bro of a dude who mocked every too-rad thought or attitude that skiers might hold onto. Saucerboy made sure we remembered that skiing was supposed to be fun, stupid, and a purely ridiculous act.
Six years on, we don't forget.

 

RIP Saucerboy.

το κλαστικο trailer της ταινιας μου αρεσε πιο πολυ...πιστευω οτι ηταν ενα φαινομενο....

σε πολλες καταστασεις πηρε ρισκο που εφτανε στα σημεια τρελας...αλλα αν δεν υπηρχαν αυτοι οι ανθρωποι σε διαφορους τομεις τα πραγματα θα ηταν πολυ πιο "πισω" σημερα....
