On behalf of the organizing committee I am pleased to invite you to the 6thInternational Congress on Science and Skiing. This congress will be held at St. Christoph a. Arlberg, Austria, from 14 - 19th December, 2013. It will be the follow up conference of the first five international congresses on science and skiing. The first two congresses as well as the 4th and 5th congress were also held in St. Christoph in the years 1996, 2000, 2007 and 2010. The third one was organized in Aspen (USA) in 2004. This congress will be organized by the Department of Sport Science and Kinesiology of the University of Salzburg. The scientific programme will offer a broad and interdisciplinary spectrum of current research work in alpine and nordic skiing and snowboarding. Internationally well known scientists will present their keynotes, many colleagues from all over the world will discuss their scientific findings in oral or poster presentations. In addition to the scientific work, many social activities will provide opportunities to make friends, to perceive Austrian hospitality and to enjoy what winter has to offer in this wonderful skiing area. The Arlberg is famous for its superb powder skiing and is supposed to be the cradle of alpine skiing. What if your partner goes down? More than half of all SIS victims were with partners that did not see them go down. Lose sight of your partner and you could lose your friend. If you lose contact with your partner, assume they need help. Many SIS victims have died while their partners were waiting at the bottom of a lift. TIP: In dense tree areas or in poor visibility, ski or ride short pitches and stop to regroup often – stay within sight of your partner! Don’t leave to get help – Stay with your partner! Call for additional resources. Use a whistle or yell for assistance. If possible, call ski partol or the resort’s emergency phone number. Evaluate scene safety for yourself. IMMEDIATELY begin snow immersion rescue efforts. - Go directly for the airway, and keep it clear, be careful not to knock more snow into the hole. Clear any snow from the airway and continue necessary first aid or extrication efforts Do not try to pull victim out the way they fell in. Instead, determine where the head is and tunnel in from the side. – When tunneling directly for the airway be careful not to knock more snow into the hole.Continue expanding the tunnel to the airway until you can extricate the body. What if you go down? Yell or use whistle to get your partners attention. Do whatever you can to keep your head above the surface of the snow including rolling, grabbing tree branches or the tree trunk. If possible, keep your feet below level of your head. If you become immersed, make a space around your face and protect your airway – resist the urge to struggle, it could compromise your airspace and entrap you further. Stay calm to conserve air. In an inverted position you can become trapped under the snow. Breathing becomes difficult as the loose snow packs in around you. Without immediate help from your partner, you may suffocate.Prevention of falling into a tree well or areas of deep snow is all-important because the odds of surviving deep snow immersion are low. 90% of people involved in Tree Well/ SIS hazard research experiments could NOT rescue themselves. If a partner is not there for immediate rescue, the skier or rider may die very quickly from suffocation – in many cases, he or she can die as quickly as someone can drown in water. Hintertux / FACEBOOK / Στεργιος Πάππος / Σημερα μετα απο συζητηση με τον διευθυντη πιστων του Hintertux εμαθα πως η ανακαινηση στο σαλε του κεντρου κοστισε συνολικα 13 εκ. Επισης πως τα τελευται τρια χρονια εχουν επενδυθει στο κεντρο 36 εκ με τις εξης επενδυσεις:α. 1 καμπινα 16 ατομων σε ροη με διπλο συρματοσχοινο,.β, 1 8 αρα καμπινα με θερμαινομενα καθισματα που ζεσταινουν οταν καθεται ο χιονοδρομος, γ.1 αποσυμπλεκομενη 6 θεσια, δ.τεχνητη χιόνωση στον παγετωνα ( εδω χρειαζεται στον Παρνασσο οχι...), ε.εννοειται καινουργια pisten bully, και .το σαλε που μολις τελειωσε και ειναι απεριγραπτο... Επισης για του χρονου αλλαζει το ενα εκ των δυο συρομενων Kasserer με 6 θεσια αποσυμπλεκομενη !!!??? για να μην υπαρχει συμφορηση λεει... Και μπαινει τεχνητο χιονι και σε ολη τη δεξια πλευρα του παγετωνα!!! Α! Το κεντρο εχει αυτην τη στιγμη 120 ομαδες και αποφασιστηκε να σταματησουν να δεχονται αλλες γιατι σε συνδιασμο με τους χιονοδρομους δεν χωραει αλλο... Ε πως να χωραει με τοσες και στοχευμενες επενδυσεις? Του ειπα και εγω τα κατορθωματα μας με τους απιθανους που εχουμε μπλεξει και μεχρι να γινει η επενδυση των 17 εκ για ενα λιφτ θα εχει αλλαξει το νομισμα....Ακομα κλαιω.... Στεργιος....

Επιβεβαιώνει το ΤΑΙΠΕΔ την βούληση αξιοποίησης του Χιονοδρομικού Κέντρου: Αυξάνει επισκέπτες, αλλά έχει χασούρα 15 εκ ευρώ Ημερομηνία δημοσίευσης:24/09/2013 Επιβεβαιώνει το ΤΑΙΠΕΔ, απαντώντας σε σχετική ερώτηση του βουλευτή του ΣΥΡΙΖΑ κ. Γιάννη Σταθά, ότι εξετάζει το ενδεχόμενο πώλησης του Χιονοδρομικού Κέντρου Παρνασσού, το οποίο φαίνεται να έχει δημιουργήσει ζημία την τελευταία εξαετία, ύψους 14,5 εκ ευρώ, ενώ παράλληλα αυξάνονται διαρκώς οι επισκέπτες του. Επιπλέον, σύμφωνα με την Εταιρεία Τουριστικών Ακινήτων, φαίνεται να υπάρχουν σοβαρά προβλήματα με την καταβολή μισθίων στο Χιονοδροιμικό της εταιρείας του κ. Παπαργηρόπουλου, η σύμβαση της οποίας έχει καταγγελθεί. Αναλυτικά στην απάντησή του το ΤΑΙΠΕΔ αναφέρει τα εξής: Ταμείο Αξιοποίησης Ιδιωτικής Περιουσίας του Δημοσίου ΑΕ 2. Κατά την αξιολόγηση των προοπτικών αξιοποίησης του Χ.Κ.Π., το ΤΑΙΠΕΔ θα συνεργαστεί με όλους τους εμπλεκόμενους φορείς προκειμένου οι τυχόν δυνατότητες ανάπτυξης να έχουν την ευρύτερη δυνατή αποδοχή, να σεβαστούν και αναδείξουν τις περιβαλλοντικές ευαισθησίες της περιοχής και να είναι επωφελείς τόσο για την οικονομική ζωή των τριών όμορων νομών, όσο και την εθνική οικονομία. Επισημαίνεται ότι, πέραν των υπηρεσιών που ορίζει ο Κανονισμός Λειτουργίας των χιονοδρομικών κέντρων, που παρέχει πλήρως το ΧΚΠ στους χιονοδρόμους και τους επισκέπτες του με απόλυτη ασφάλεια, για την καλύτερη και ταχύτερη εξυπηρέτηση τους έχει εγκαταστήσει σύγχρονα ηλεκτρονικά συστήματα έκδοσης και ελέγχου των εισιτηρίων (ski data), ενώ έχει δημιουργήσει και λειτουργεί ηλεκτρονικό κατάστημα αγοράς εισιτηρίων μέσω internet (web ticket). Όλα τα παραπάνω σε συνδυασμό με την άμεση, πρόσβαση προς τις εγκαταστάσεις του Χ.Κ.Π., μέσω των εκχιονισμένων οδών και η διευκόλυνση στάθμευσης, προσδιορίζουν το ικανοποιητικό επίπεδο λειτουργίας του Κέντρου και την συνεχή προσπάθεια εκσυγχρονισμού και βελτίωσης του και μάλιστα χωρίς αύξηση των τιμών του, αλλά παρέχοντας ειδικά εκπτωτικά για οικογένειες και ειδικές κατηγορίες χιονοδρόμων. Παράλληλα προωθείται η αδειοδότηση για την παραγωγή ηλεκτρικής ενέργειας από αιολικό πάρκο ισοδύναμης με την κατανάλωση του ΧΚΠ. Ακόμη προγραμματίζεται εγκατάσταση βιολογικού καθαρισμού, δεδομένου ότι, θεωρώντας μακροχρόνια επένδυση και επιβεβλημένη ανάγκη τις δράσεις Εταιρικής Κοινωνικής Ευθύνης, στο ΧΚΠ, από το Φεβρουάριο του 2012, τέθηκε σε εφαρμογή η Οδηγία της ΕΕ για την Εναλλακτική Διαχείριση όλων των Ρευμάτων Αποβλήτων που παράγονται στους χώρους του Κέντρου. Σκοπός της Οδηγίας είναι να καθιερώσει ένα λειτουργικό σύστημα διαχείρισης των αποβλήτων που θα σέβεται το ευαίσθητο φυσικό περιβάλλον του Εθνικού Δρυμού, θα στοχεύει στην αειφορία καθώς και στην εξοικονόμηση φυσικών πόρων και ενέργειας. Στην κατεύθυνση αυτή, από κοινού, η Διοίκηση του ΧΚΠ και ο Ανάδοχος Λειτουργίας του, έχουν προχωρήσει σε σύναψη συνεργασιών με εγκεκριμένα συστήματα εναλλακτικής διαχείρισης αποβλήτων και έχουν αναλάβει ενεργό ρόλο για την ενημέρωση και ευαισθητοποίηση του κοινού στις νέες συνθήκες (σχετικές πληροφορίες πεπραγμένων στο site www.ski-parnassos.gr/econews). Επισημαίνουμε ότι, για πρώτη φορά προβλέφθηκε η θέση περιβαλλοντολόγου στην προκήρυξη της ΕΤΑΔ ΑΕ, που αφορούσε το διαγωνισμό ανάθεσης λειτουργίας και συντήρησης του ΧΚΠ, για τα έτη 2011-2014, με στόχο την εφαρμογή σχεδίου περιβαλλοντολογικής διαχείρισης. Όσον αφορά τις ιδιωτικές εταιρίες που δραστηριοποιούνται στο ΧΚΠ αναφέρουμε τα ακόλουθα: Β) Η Σύμβαση για την Ανάθεση Διαχείρισης Καταστήματος Ενοικίασης και Συντήρησης Χιονοδρομικού Εξοπλισμού στο ΧΚΠ (από 01.01.2009 μέχρι τη λήξης της χιονοδρομικής περιόδου 2013 – 2014) με την εταιρεία «Α. ΠΑΠΑΡΓΥΡΟΠΟΥΛΟΣ Ε.Π.Ε.», έχει ετήσιο οικονομικό αντάλλαγμα (για το 2013) το ποσό των 72.930,38 ευρώ. Οι οφειλές επί της εν λόγω αναδόχου εταιρείας, ανέρχονται μέχρι σήμερα, 26.08.2013, σε 11.704,37 ευρώ. Επισυνάπτεται η σχετική σύμβαση. Δ) Η από 10/05/2012 Σύμβαση μεταξύ ΕΤΑΔ ΑΕ και εταιρίας «Doppelmayer SeilbahnenGmbH» για την υλοποίηση εκσυγχρονισμού των αναβατήρων του ΧΚΠ, όπως προαναφέρθηκε. I watch the film today and wonder about all the choices that go into making a film. There is no traditional narrative, no singular event was portrayed; rather I was trying to use the cinematic process to convey the visceral element of ski racing and its nuances, in particular the emotional dichotomy between severe racing competition among individuals and the more reflective joy of free skiing. I wanted to create a cinematic equivalent to all this.As Dumeng Giovanoli says in the film, “I like to race because I like to be better than my friend… to go faster than him. But when the racing season is over, I go back home and ski for myself… free, in powder, it’s like you fly… that’s really skiing not racing. Racing is something different, much different.”The film is impressionistic, it treats Slalom, Downhill and Free Skiing as separate experiences with different emotions. Fragments of many different races are edited together to create nature of each discipline. The significance and the appeal of Ski Racer probably lies more in the film making than the subject matter. It was perhaps the first film to combine the irreverent energy of rock music, optical effects and complex quick cut editing to create a transcendent subjective representation of racing. I avoided traditional narration in favor of using the very personal voices of the racers themselves. Billy Kidd, Jean Claude Killy, Spider Sabich, Dumeng Geovanolli, Karen Budge, Karl Schranz, and many others, seemed to welcome the chance to express their motivations and feelings of what racing meant to them.The film is reflective of the times. The ferment of late sixties is echoed in the interlacing of music from The Grateful Dead, Steve Miller, Mike Bloomfield, and Indian Ragas with the ski action.
